This piece shows photographs of the artist\u2019s friends, grandmother and places that represent the memories she associates with a particular time. The photographs are displayed where the amygdala is located, near the lower center of the brain. The amygdala stores memories charged with emotions. When the brain is depressed, the dark areas dominate and the bright ones are very few.
