Maya Candler<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Textile Art<\/p>\n\n\n\n In July of 2020 at the age of 25, 6-months into a global pandemic, I was diagnosed with Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of a salivary gland. The next 3 months were a whirlwind of innumerable biopsies and scans, culminating in an 18-hour facial surgery to carve out the cancerous tumor and nerve it encased. Haunted by stillness, depression, pain, PTSD, anxiety, loss, and future questions.
