When the brain adapts and changes according to new information, it is said to be plastic. Brains must be plastic, otherwise we would be unable to learn. However, a brain is slightly different from the 3D printed, plastic brain cell I’m holding in this picture. From looking at a brain slice under a microscope, to utilizing new technologies like 3D printing, to physically holding something which is smaller than a pin head, we have to be plastic and adapt by drawing connections no one has thought of before.
