CONNECTIONS – Poetry Evening
On 31st March, Connections will partner with UofA Days of Action Committee and the Sound Studies Institute for an evening of poetry around themes of mental health, neurological disorders and wellness. Heather Ritz, a Community Social Worker with Wellness Supports will start with a presentation about Happiness Reflected, a multi year project which invites members of the UofA community to submit poems about happiness as a way to open up discussions about mental health. This will be followed by readings of some of the Happiness Reflected poems by students and alumni submitted in 2025, and then an open session where guests are welcome to share their poetry with the audience. No registration is required

CONNECTIONS – Fibre Fun
Join CONNECTIONS fibre artists Richard Boulet and Maya Candler for a relaxed, collaborative afternoon of FIBRE FUN, sharing and creation. There will be two drop in sessions, the first from noon – 1.20pm, the second from 1.40pm – 3pm.
All materials will be provided and children are welcome with an adult.
This event is a drop-in, and will be first come first served. If you would like to reserve your spot, please email in advance.

A scientist, physician and artist come together to discuss their perspectives and experiences with addiction. An interactive evening of learning, compassion, and hope.

CONNECTIONS – VR Night
Immerse yourself in the minds of artists Marilène Oliver and aAron Munson with Tête à Tête and Where Are You?, two virtual reality artworks created from high resolution CT and MRI scans. These pieces reveal the beauty of neuroscientific imaging while exploring how technologies like machine learning and social media shape our brains and mental health.
